Lean and Good – Burgers!

I mentioned last night that I had lean burgers on the BBQ, thought I’d share my meal:

Ingredients:
Lean Meat (I find the leanest burger meat at Trader Joe’s– i buy the ready made patties)
Cilantro or Parsely
Cumin
Garlic / Onion Medeley (its a dry rub i think made by McCormick)
BBQ Marinade Sauce (of your choice – used a steakhouse marinade)

Prep:
Mix all above ingredients together, add the dry rub as needed, don’t put too much marinade sauce in (that is the only killer ingredient). For the burger patties, I just mush ‘em all together, i don’t need to keep them in tact, what is the point?

Cooking:
Heat BBQ to desired temp and pack round balls of the now awesome burger meat.
Place on grill and leave on lower heat for a good 5 – 10 min. as the meat / burger comes together
With a spatula (and maybe the help of tongs) flip the burger once it is more easily moved (and won’t come apart)
cook on opposite side for 5 min.
at this point i flip the burger every min for another few, while I get buns, sides, etc. all ready.

once everything is ready, take the burger off onto your bun, add condiments to please (i just use a dab of ketchup) and you are done! tasty!
